What can you really expect for a dollar? E.L.F. has some amazing products, sadly this just isn't one of them. I put it on and the pencil really pulled on my skin and I'm pretty tolerant with liners and pulling so for me to care is a big thing. The liner smudged pretty badly and wore off where I put it within two hours. I wouldn't buy it again.
I love this pencil! It is an awesome creamy white shadow pencil that is great for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes! Blends well, lasts a long time, especially if you top it with powder eyeshadow. I don't know how it would wear on the lid, though, since I have only used it for the inner corners.
Pros:Great creamy white color, goes on smooth, good staying power. Cons:None yet!
I bought this pencil for highlighting my tear ducts, but I found that it really doesn't work all that well for that. It does help to wear it under my shadows to help them pop, though I do find that with some shadows it will make them look cakey. It will crease on me, so a base is necessary. Overall this is an OK product, but not something I will ever buy again. It goes on creamy, and doesn't pull my eye lids. You need a jumbo sharpener, because the pencil is thick.
Pros:Makes shadows pop, creamy, doesn't pull my lids Cons:Discontinued, creases, makes some shadows look cakey
This is a very pale pink highlighter pencil, to be used right under the arch of the brow to give the optical illusion of a "lift". It goes on very smoothly and the color looks natural.
I also like to use this on my waterline to make me look more awake. It stays on fairly well and looks much better than if you´d use a white-ish color (too fake)
Pros:creamy consistency, lasts long. Gives brows a "lift" Cons:
all of the pencils at hottopic suck. ive tried a lot of them. they all seem to be made of the same consistency. they arent soft enough to allow a lot of pigment to stick to the skin. & the wear away fast. cheap.
Pros:inexpensive. Cons:not even worth the money you spent.
The Mac mua used this on my eyes both on the lid and under. So easy to smudge with the 219 mac brush. it looked great. I was leary to spend $12.50 on a eye pencil. I swaped a line on the top of my hand, trying to determine whether i should buy it or not. tried to rub it off, and it wouldnt come off, tried it again and the same thing, it was still there.. I was like WOW, any other one, would of come off.. So I did not hesitate to buy it then. I am for sure going to buy other colors too.. It is pretty long, so it will last a long time. I would buy this again.. Great staying power...
Pros:glides on smooth, lasts forever, easy to smudge when first put on Cons:none
This is a deep blue, almost black colour. It takes a bit of effort to apply as it not very soft. Not very easy to smudge either so not good for a smokey eye!
at first, i bought this eyeliner because i was lemming for a kajal but couldn't afford a lakshmi and this one was sold for a few euros.
the first times i used it it was very hard and i could barely get any pigment on my eyes. then it got a little warmer and softer so i could get a nice line. definitely satisfied :)
I adore this eyepencil. It's just the warmest, soft gold you can imagine. It's very soft, so it just goes on so gently and creates a nice halo around your eyes. It's especially flattering on blue eyes. As a strawberry blond I even use it as an eyebrow pencil sometimes. I wore this for my wedding and it always makes me happy to wear it again!
Pros:Soft, gorgeous color. Very smooth application. Cons:Pricey
This is my HG black pencil eyeliner. It's smooth and creamy and lasts all day and is really cheap. The only bad thing is that it needs to be sharpened a lot.
Great versatility. I have used this type of eye color before and been disappointed. These are easy to use, soft to apply with no tugging or pulling. The colors last through a work day. I wear them alone, as liners, and paired with traditional pan shadows. I've received numerous compliments every time I've used them! Very affordable and frequently available on sale. I got 2 for $6.99. I will definitely be purchasing these again.
Pros:Affordable. Great colors. No tugging or pulling. Color lasts all day. Cons:Can only purchase through Avon. Find a Rep. or order online.
I picked up "Bad Gal" liner at Sephora last year when asking the sales assistant to recc. a good black kohl-type liner. She recc'd this..and I am more than glad she did.
For the past year now, this has been my go-to item when I want any kind of a black pencil or dramatic look...But don't get me wrong; this is not only for the dramatic, smokey looks (although it does those superbly), I use this a lot for daytime looks, too.
This product comes in a big, chunky pencil. You *will* need to have a pencil sharpener with an oversized hole for this, but it's a menial investment (and, truth be told, any makeup buff should have one of those anyway). This product has a creamy, blendable constistency...you can use a smudger to smudge a smokey line to your hearts content!!!
I LOVE this pencil...It has lasted me well over a year now, and I am going to buy another when this runs down to a stub.
I would tell any gal looking for the perfect black kohl-type liner to buy this...you'll never look back!
Pros:The *BEST* black liner I've eva used Cons:Only comes in one color..black. But that's ok by me;)
I really like this pecil, it comes with a smudger for the waterproof line so thats highly convenient! However it doesnt have that great color payoff we tend to seek in anything. But its a GREAT liner to keep in your purse!
Pros:lasts long, fit what it claims, has a smudger, price Cons:not that great color intensity
I just got this today, and I must say... it is already a favorite of mine. It is a very nice tangerine gold color highlighter pencil. I line the inner corners of my eyes, and it totally brightens up my whole look. I like to line my lower lash line too... even if I am tired, it makes me look so awake. This was an allure beauty award-winner too. I'm lovin' it! It is the best pencil by Benefit by far, and I've tried all of them.
Pros:it totally brightens my eyes, and is perfect for summer! Cons:a little pricey, but it will last a long time. I think Macy's sells it for $16.00, everywhere else it is $18.00
Benefit's "Eye Bright" is great for brightening up tired eyes. I put it on the inner corners of my eyes, on the dark circles under my eyes, and under my browbone. The only thing is it has to be blended really well to look natural (since it's pink).
I tried using this on my waterline, but my white eye pencil works better.
Pros:Brightens up eyes well. Cons:Can look unnatural if not blended well, $$$
This is a stunner. The magicolor pencils are marketed for face painting rather than beauty makeup but they're great as inexpensive, quality eye and lip liners. The shade ultralite is a great pink/cream off-white. I use it in my waterline to brighten my eyes without the fake look of a pure white pencil and it lasts all day. I also use it as a brow highlighter, like Benefit Highbrow. Super cheap. Love it!
Pros:Cheap, quality, lasts Cons:Not so easy to find -- try theatrical shops, costume shops or ebay
